A large commercial floor mid-construction with a suspended ceiling grid, steel stud framing and warm work lights

Commercial walls and ceilings, framed and finished.

Steel stud framing, drywall, acoustic and specialty ceilings for general contractors and developers who need the interior scope delivered clean, safe and on schedule.

  • Steel stud framing
  • Drywall & Level 5 finish
  • Acoustic ceilings
  • Specialty ceilings
  • Insulation

One trade partner for the full interior envelope.

Orbital Wall & Ceilings frames, boards, finishes and hangs the interiors of commercial, institutional and multi-family buildings. We take the scope from layout to the last ceiling tile with one crew, one superintendent and one point of contact for your project team.

The name is a small joke for people who know ceilings. The work is not. Straight studs, flat walls, level grids and a site left clean at the end of every shift.

What we do

Six scopes, delivered as one package or on their own. Every service is self-performed by our own crews.

Galvanized steel studs with a laser level line across them

Steel stud framing

Interior and load-bearing steel stud assemblies, shaft walls, bulkheads and backing, laid out to the architect's line and coordinated with the trades that follow.

A taping knife drawing joint compound across a drywall seam under raking light

Drywall & Level 5 finishing

Board, tape and finish to the level the space demands, up to Level 5 skim coats for critical lighting, feature walls and high-end fit-outs.

A worker on a scissor lift installing acoustic tiles into a suspended T-bar grid

Acoustic & T-bar ceilings

Suspended grid systems, acoustic tile, baffles and clouds, hung level and square across open floors, corridors and clinical spaces.

A hotel lobby with curved gypsum soffits, cove lighting and a wood slat ceiling

Specialty ceilings & soffits

Curved gypsum, coffers, linear wood and metal systems, cove details and the framing that makes them possible.

Pink batt insulation fitted between steel studs, with drywall on one side and bare studs on the other

Insulation & acoustic assemblies

Thermal and sound-attenuation batts, rated partitions and sealed assemblies that meet the spec and pass inspection the first time.

Exterior DensGlass sheathing

Exterior steel framing and DensGlass gypsum sheathing, the backup assembly behind curtain wall and cladding, sequenced with the envelope trades.

From layout to last tile.

The interior scope touches every other trade on the job. We run it in four disciplined stages so nobody waits on us.

  1. 01

    Pre-construction

Budget pricing, value engineering and a realistic schedule before the first stud arrives. We flag conflicts on paper, not on site.

  2. 02

    Layout & framing

Laser layout from control lines, steel framed plumb and true, with backing and openings coordinated for mechanical, electrical and millwork.

  3. 03

    Board & finish

Insulation, board and taping sequenced floor by floor, finished to the specified level and checked under raking light.

  4. 04

    Ceilings & close-out

Grid, tile and specialty ceilings installed after the trades above are complete, then a walk-through, deficiencies cleared and the floor handed over clean.

What a general contractor can count on.

Safety first, every shift
Documented site-specific safety plans, daily toolbox talks and supervisors who hold the line on fall protection and housekeeping.
Manpower that scales
Our own crews, sized to the schedule, with a dedicated superintendent on every project from mobilization to close-out.
Finish that survives the walk-through
We inspect our own work under critical light before you do, so deficiency lists stay short and hand-over stays on the date.
A clean site
Board offcuts, compound and dust are managed daily. The floor is ready for the next trade when we leave it.
